leveling up your skincare routine

Last month, I went over the skincare basics with y’all so this month we are leveling up baby! BUT, if you missed last month’s blog, go back and read it here! This month, we’re building on the basics and chatting about products I get my clients on after we start a basic routine because, well, they are just that good!

First up, my CBD B3 Facial Hydrating Spray by Glymed which is truly just 🤌 It’s hydrating, calming, nourishing, anti-aging, brightening, helps to control the oil/water ratio on the skin AND reduces redness and acne bacteria, like excuse me what? This is why it’s a must-have product, plus the smell is heavenly!

Next, eye creams, which seems to be a pretty commonly forgotten area, but we don’t want to do that! Because listen bo, when your eye area starts to show signs of aging, that’s hard to reverse, so we want to prevent it even if you’re not seeing signs now. The Instant Effect Eye Gel from Skinbetter is a favorite of mine! The product is on a cold roller which makes it extra effective in helping to instantly depuff and brighten your eye area. Think of it as an energy drink for your eyes every morning. If you have deeper, darker eye circles and fine lines your go-to will be the EyeMax Alpharet Overnight Cream by Skinbetter. This product gently exfoliates, helps with milia around the eye area too. The last option for eye cream is the Interfuse Treatment from Skinbetter. Obviously, I can’t choose so I rotate between them all!

Serums are a great tool for very targeted skincare. I love having different ones for morning or evening. I have 2 personal favorites at the moment. The Even Tone Correcting Serum from Skinbetter is the first. It’s literally filler in a bottle. It prevents discoloration, redness, spots, you name it. The best part though, it’s that it doesn’t have hydroquinone. This ingredient can be pretty irritating in a lot of skin products. The ingredients in the Even Tone Serum are all brightening and lightening ingredients that protect your skin while keeping it calm and being full of amino acids and peptides! My other favorite is the Mandelic Serum by Face Reality*. This serum helps with anti-aging, acne, inflammation and pigmentation, all while being one of the most gentle alpha hydroxy acids. It’s thicker than most, which also makes it super unique and allows it to penetrate your skin more slowly with less irritation.

I could literally go on forever about the benefits of masks and don’t even get me started on having to pick just 1 favorite! One of my all-time faves is the Ultra Hydrating Enzyme Mask from Glymed. This is a great beginner mask. It’s the most gentle exfoliant and nourishes your skin very deeply. The ingredients include papian and bromeline enzymes which are so gentle and provide antioxidants so it’s a great energy boost for your skin. You can use this one up to 3 times a week and literally never have an issue. After this mask, you can add in more masks for your own custom blend. The Oxygen Deep Pore Cleanser from Glymed is my next favorite! It’s great for oily and blackhead prone skin and my makeup lovers out there. She’s a lactic and oxygen based mask that detoxifies, brightens and revitalizes the skin. However, its main purpose is desicrustation, which is oil and dead skin cell buildup. I love this one on its own, but it’s also great to use for a little self-care/facial day to get all the benefits.

And there ya have it! Leveling up your skincare routine is one of the best self-care things I could ever recommend. Who doesn’t feel their best when their skin is glowing!?
