Unlocking Your Inner Energy: Understanding Reiki Healing

In the beginning of this year, I introduced reiki healing as a part of the experience at the spa. Reiki is based on a universal energy that can be channeled to promote healing, wellness and relaxation. The word "Reiki" is derived from two Japanese words. "Rei" , which means universal that's interpreted to mean higher spiritual consciousness or knowledge. The meaning of the higher self or God is the God-Consciousness which is the wisdom to know all. It knows and understands what each person needs for healing the difficulties and problems they are facing plus the cause of them! "Ki" which means life force energy. Everything we do in life has life energy. Ki is also the primary energy of our emotions, thoughts, and spiritual life.

Reiki is often used as a complementary therapy alongside traditional homeopathic or holistic treatments. Many people find it to be a helpful tool for managing stress, anxiety, and chronic pain. In today’s blog, we’re going to talk about the benefits, how you get certified, how it works, and what you might experience during a reiki session. Let’s dive in!

Benefits of Reiki

  • Healing from injuries or illnesses

  • Reduced stress

  • Increased relaxation

  • Improved sleep

  • Greater sense of overall well-being

  • Pain relief

One of the unique aspects of Reiki is that it can be performed both in person and from a distance, making it a flexible option for those seeking healing and balance in their lives. Additionally, Reiki is non-invasive and does not involve the use of any medications or medical procedures, making it a safe and gentle form of therapy for people of all ages.

There is no right or wrong way to receive and accept reiki either! It's a different experience for everyone!

Reiki can start a cleansing process that can affect the physical body, as well as the emotions and mind. toxins, feelings, thought patterns, habits that are no longer useful can be released from the body. This does not always take place but can! You may need more rest and quiet time alone to discover the changes you need to make a healthier and happier you!

How Do You Get Certified?

First, you will need to find a Reiki Master who can provide you with the necessary training. Look for a teacher who is experienced, knowledgeable, and trusted!

Once you have found a teacher, you will need to complete a Reiki attunement. During the attunement, you will learn about the history of Reiki, the principles of Reiki healing, and how to perform Reiki treatments on yourself and others.

Attunements are the passing of energy from the reiki master to the student connecting the student to the reiki energy source. The reiki master is only a channel for the reiki to reach the student. The process is guided by Rei or God consciousness which will make adjustments.

After completing attunement, you will need to practice Reiki regularly to deepen your skills and gain experience. Once you have been attuned, reiki is with you forever. It doesn't wear off.

Okay, so how does it work?

The Reiki practitioner begins by placing their hands on or near the recipient's body, with the intention of channeling this universal energy to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Reiki is always done in a positive manner; there is no negativity connected to this. It's all about pure intentions, love and light to heal. Reiki can never cause harm because it is guided by God Consciousness. It always knows what a person needs. The practitioner is just a guide for the reiki; the reiki knows what needs healing. The Reiki practitioners usually can tap into their clairvoyance during a season. This can help give an understanding of what the reiki was healing! The client can also feel or tap into these too. messages may come across during reiki sessions. The practitioner will only share what they saw/heard/felt/ect and not try to find meaning. That is for the client to interpret

What do you experience during reiki?

Everyone's individual experiences are different! There can be many ways you feel reiki. While reiki is being done to me, usually I am feeling warming sensations, cooling, tingles where the hands are being placed or just different areas of my body. That is the energy flowing! You'll often see different colors or images/pictures during the session that could represent something on a deeper level for you. The colors can refer back to different chakra points on the body or have another underlying meaning! Reiki is all about energy so tune into your senses. Sometimes people can smell things too! It's all of your clairvoyants essentially. It's up to you to tune into yourself. Relax and listen! Our bodies know so much and want to give us so much information we just need to slow down and tune into ourselves!
